Artist Bio

As a realist artist, I work in different mediums including oil painting, graphite. opaque watercolor, ink and acrylic. I choose subjects that challenge my drawing abilities or of things that greatly interest me. I relocated to Wilmington NC after being born and raised in Pittsburgh PA, to be near the ocean, the great art community, and the fascinating history this area holds. There is a wealth of subjects in the coastal communities to paint. The harbors, seaports as well as the 19th Century architecture and historical sites are always an inspiration. Since moving here, I have enjoyed painting and exhibiting throughout the area including 4 one person shows culminating with a recent large exhibition at The Bellamy Mansion in Wilmington NC. My latest work is influenced by the history and vibrancy of the Carolina coast and river towns. Whether it is a panoramic ocean view or a rundown 19th century barn, I am equally inspired and try to create paintings that are unique and insightful. I am also fascinated by the history of the area and the buildings that have so many stories to tell. That is my main motivation in pursuing subjects and creating new works in all mediums.
